DOWNLOAD NO.125 - JOHN LAWS

JOHN LAWS (EX RADIO ANNOUNCER) HAD LONGEVITY IN THE TOP 40 CHARTS. HIS FIRST HIT WAS IN 1959 AND HIS LAST WAS IN 1972. JOHN ALSO PRODUCED NUMEROUS COUNTRY COMPILATION ALBUMS UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT.

JOHN FAVOURED COUNTRY SONGS BUT IN HIS YOUTH HE ATTEMPTED THE NEW ROCK AND ROLL STYLE, OR ROCK-A-BILLY STYLE, AND HAD A DOUBLE SIDED HIT IN 1959 WITH "MADE TO BE LOVED" BACKED BY "RUN BOY RUN" WHICH GOT TO #33 NATIONALLY.

IN 1972, HIS LAST HIT WAS A DOUBLE SIDED DISK ALSO, "DADDY, DON'T YOU WALK SO FAST" BACKED WITH "NO NAME". THIS SINGLE GOT TO #17 NATIONALLY.

THE CONTRAST IN RECORDING STYLES COULD NOT BE MORE DIFFERENT. THE TECHNOLOGY USED BY THE REX RECORDING COMPANY WAS CUTTING EDGE IN 1959 BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS RECORDED IN AN ECHO CHAMBER. BY 1972 WITH BETTER RECORDING FACILITIES AT HAND, JOHN'S VERSION ON "NO NAME" SOUNDED BETTER THEN THE DENNIS WEAVER ORIGINAL.

THIS DOWNLOAD IS A RAR FILE WITH ALL 4 SONGS WHICH HAVE NOT MADE IT TO C.D. AS FAR AS I AM AWARE:
