HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU WISHED AN OLD SONG YOU LIKED COULD JUST BE A BIT LONGER?? YOU'D GO ASK A GIRL FOR A DANCE AND THE RECORD WOULD BE OVER BEFORE YOU KNEW IT.
THE SONG USED FOR THIS DOWNLOAD WAS FROM THE ERA WHERE BUBBLEGUM SHORT SONGS WERE VERY POPULAR...BUT I ALWAYS WANTED A LONGER DANCE VERSION OF THIS SONG.....
WHEN I FIRST GOT MY POCKET MONEY SAVED UP TO PURCHASE MY FIRST VINYL 7" RECORDS I HAD NO IDEA THAT ONE DAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO EXTENDED SONGS AND MY WISH WOULD BECOME A REALITY.
"SOFT DELIGHTS" WAS FIRST DONE BY TANGERINE PEEL WHOSE BAND MEMBERS INCLUDED MIKE CHAPMAN - HALF OF THE TEAM CHINN/CHAPMAN THAT WROTE SONGS FOR THE SWEET, SUZI QUATRO, MUD, BLONDIE ETC. MIKE WAS THE SOLE WRITER OF THIS SINGLE. TANGERINE PEEL'S VERSION SOUNDED OK BUT HAD NO HOOK UNTIL THE MELBOURNE GROUP NEW DREAM GOT SOME HORN RIFFS ADDED.
HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME IS THE EXTENDED BUBBLEGUM HIT FROM 1971. THE ORIGINAL 2:30 MINS IS NOW A MASSIVE 4:00 MINS !
MY GOOD FRIEND MICKO GOT A VERY PRISTINE COPY OF THE SONG IN STEREO FOR ME TO USE. THANKS MICKO.

THE SECOND POST IS THE FLIPSIDE "YOU'VE GOT ME SINGING". IT WAS ALSO ACCOMPANIED BY A FILM CLIP LIKE THE "A" SIDE. BOTH CLIPS WERE ON T.V. SHOWS LIKE HAPPENING '71.
