Rare and obscure vinyl mixes converted for download / YouTube - if you are the copyright owner of any song and object to its inclusion please post a comment if you need to have something removed. My intention is to make sure the younger people out in cyber space know about the lost tracks which music companies have not released on compact disc. If you seek rare hits from foreign lands then please click link below to my sister blogsite: "Songs That Made It Big In Oz".

DOWNLOAD NO.62 - ROBBIE PORTER
Robbie had a solo vocal 7" single issued in 1970 called "Gemini". It has not made it to CD.
Following much early 1970's success with his Sparmac music label (first single issue was Zoom Gonk by Blue Forest), in 1973 Robbie formed a new partnership with Steve Binder resulting in the Wizard label.
Some of Australia's best known performers recorded for the label, from long established acts to major new successes. The label also had a subsidiary called Miracle Records.
Wizard also re-issued much of the Sparmac catalogue which Porter still owned.
Ten years after opening Wizard, he sold it to RCA music. Porter still has the master tapes of many Sparmac/Wizard recordings which have subsequently never been released.
This download is a full wave file of "Gemini" (a large file for such a short song).
Enjoy the quality!

DOWNLOAD NO.61 - RUSSELL MORRIS 12" / DAWN DIXON / THE STRANGERS
These were big hits mostly in Victoria as the majority of the artists came from that state.
Bouzouki – Dawn Dixon
Dawn recorded on the Fable label and had a fairly big hit with Bouzouki in Melbourne.
Looking Through The Eyes Of A Beautiful Girl – The Strangers
The Strangers had a big brassy version of the same single that Autumn covered (their version is on a previous download below). The Strangers recorded on the Fable label when this single was issued.
Mr. America (12" extended mix) – Russell Morris
These are long lost OZ treasures.
ENJOY!
